Civil Service Examinations

A Civil Service examination is required for consideration for employment for most full-time City jobs. Applications to take the Civil Service Exam are only accepted when an upcoming test is advertised. Advertisements for exams are found in local newspapers, this website, the 1st floor bulletin board in the Clyde Municipal Building, and at the Sandusky County Courthouse. Each posted position requires separate applications and exams. There is one Civil Service Exams scheduled at this time for departments in the City of Clyde. Please check back often.

Part-time Fire Department
The City of Clyde Fire Department is accepting applications for future part-time unclassified fire fighter positions . Applications are available in the City Manager's office, 2nd floor Clyde Municipal Building, 222 N. Main Street, Clyde, OH.

Qualifications - Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed: Completion of required fire service training; demonstrable ability to perform heavy physical labor under hazardous conditions. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and hazardous materials technician training.
