The Clyde/Fremont Section of the North Coast Inland Trail opened to the public on September 28, 1997.
The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy was founded in 1985. This non-profit organization is dedicated to converting abandoned rail corridors into a nationwide network of multipurpose trails. Ohio leads the nation in rail trail projects.
