Building Code Department

Commercial and Industrial building code permitting is currently handled at the County level by SAFEbuilt.

The Sandusky County Commercial/Industrial Building Code Department requires any contractor, person, firm, or corporation that constructs, alters, repairs, adds to, subtracts from, reconstructs, or remodels any building, structure, or appurtenance thereto to first obtain registration before any work is performed. This includes contractors performing work in Sandusky County that does not require a permit.
