Overview
The Board shall be composed of a minimum of fourteen and a maximum of twenty-one members to be appointed by the Council upon recommendation of the Board. Terms are five years.
The Fair Board shall be responsible for organizing and administering the annual Clyde Fair, which shall be held in September of each year. Such Board shall provide by its own rules and procedures for the conduct of its meetings and its responsibilities relative to the organization and administration of the Clyde Fair.
Each January the Board organizes and chooses a chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, and treasurer who shall serve until an organizational meeting to be held in January of the following year.
New Fair Board applicants may be invited by Fair Board members to participate in a one-year non-voting probationary membership. The procedure to require a probationary period was developed and implemented several years ago to aid current Fair Board members in making a final decision to recommend to City Council person or persons for appointment to the Fair Board.
